Breath emerges as a necessary counterpoint: the space that opens when intense emotion has been inhabited and released. Through vertical brushstrokes in tones of sky blue, pale pink, turquoise, and soft orange, the work constructs a luminous field of extraordinary lightness, where color seems to float rather than settle.
The iridescent palette acts as a record of a transitional state: not the beginning of the emotional process, but its resolution. Each stroke rises with a lightness that deliberately contrasts with the chromatic and gestural density of earlier works, suggesting that clarity is not the absence of intensity, but its transformation.
The pictorial surface evokes the ephemeral quality of light in motion: an aurora, a threshold, the precise instant in which weight turns into air. Respiro does not document an emptiness, but rather the presence of what remains when that which has been held for too long is released.
In this sense, the work proposes that emotional release is not loss, but opening. An inner space made visible. A pause that is also a beginning.
